Celebrating Burton

The night we got home from the beach, this little man got his first haircut! Oh my gosh, he is the cutest, and his hair was so cute long, but it was in his face most of the time. Good thing his mama is a hair lady!
Poor little guy, had no idea what was happening. He was NOT happy about it once she started.
We had to take him out and love on him a bit mid cut...
But we finally got him calm enough to get through the cut. Oh my gosh, he's the cutest. All of us were just in love all week and couldn't get enough of him! :)
And the final product: Too cute for words!!
The next morning we went to church with the Croskrey's and these cute cousins were super excited to be matchy matchy!
I was just happy to be with this lady. It was so much fun to just be there with her and see what her life is all about now. She is in the Primary presidency and my mom and I had to tag team teach a class last minute. Kenzie's class, so that was pretty fun!

After church it was time to celebrate this little man. It was his big 1st birthday!!!!
He wasn't sure what to think of everything. He didn't really like being the only one in his chair, and having to wear the hat. He wasn't sure of what to think of the candle and the flame, or the cake even. His mama had to make him a special egg free cake, but it turned out so good!!!

I just love this pic of Burton:
And this one: haha
Then he got a little taste of the goodness and I guess he decided that all the torture of the chair and the hat were worth it! haha He, of course, loved it!!!

After making a decent mess, little man got a bath and some presents and a little naked time and he was a happy camper!

Oh my gosh, I just love him!
It was a long day of partying, so Tuck and Jason took a little nappy nap. Jason got us, especially Tucker hooked on a show called Granite Flats on the BYU channel. It was really good and they bonded over it. It was fun to see them become good little buddies.
Even this guy was worn out, luckily he had his favorite grammy to snuggle with!!!
If the rest of our San Antonio trip is anything like the first few days of our trip so far, we are in for a treat!! Can't wait for the rest of our time here!!

Da Beach...take 2!

The next morning was BEACH day! we were pumped to see what these Port Aransas beaches had to offer! All these boys wanted to do was watch cartoons all day, but we were on a schedule and had a mission to enjoy the sun!
The beach is the beach and is always wonderful, but after being at the Florida beaches, this wasn't the BEST beach I'd ever been to. But it was still warm and it was still the ocean and so we were still happy! The sand color and consistency reminded me of the Oregon coast beach, but the warm sun made all the difference. It was so nice to just spend the day relaxing and enjoying cousin time and the warm weather.
Tucker, of course, was on his boogie board the whole day and was in heaven. I had to remind myself to check on him because I hardly ever saw him, he just loves the ocean and loves body boarding! He is getting pretty good at it, too with all the practice!
Oh my gosh, this Kenzie girl makes me laugh so much! Her and Taylor just enjoyed playing and building together all day!

Kayla and her babies:
Even Burton got in on the Ocean action! :)
Tuck and his new boogie board:
And with my favorite little Burton:

Meanwhile, this one was, of course, joined at the hip with his grammy!

Such a little beach dude:
Of course, as soon as I laid down, he was on me. I just love this little blondie of mine!
After our day at the beach we decided to get some grub at a local place, I can't even remember the name of! :) haha. Oops... It was good. It's such a little beach town, every place was small and quaint and beachy and casual.

And, of course, because we're on vacation, we have to get dessert!
After dinner was time to walk around the cute and quaint downtown Port Aransas again.  There was a candy shop we had been eyeing, so we couldn't pass it up! :)

When I woke up the next morning, I saw this little blondie next to me and I just couldn't get over how dang cute he is! And how blonde his hair is getting!
We decided to spend our few last hours at the Condo pool. My little fishies love the pool so much. This one just wanted to snuggle grammy, but the I couldn't get the other two out!

Port Aransas was fun, but I think that next time, looking back now, after the vacation, I would rather spend more time in San Antonio, there are SO many fun things to do! We had to say good bye to PA, but were excited to explore SA! :)

Getting to San Antonio & Port Aransas...

We were finally on our way to San Antonio!!!! We were so excited to see Aunt Kayla and Kenzie and Burton! None of us had ever been to Texas before and we were meeting Grandma Kelly there we had a beach trip planned and Seaworld trips planned! Even after a few weeks of playing with our Alabama cousins, we were ready for more!
But first we had to get there, and for some reason, this trip with this little man was a long one! He is usually a great traveler but just in that stage where he wants to go go go and with two other children who, aren't as needy, but still need me, it was a lot of work. Luckily, it wasn't a long flight, and it had gotten delayed from Birmingham the day before, so it was a more direct flight that even our earlier flight. We were supposed to get into San Antonio before my mom, and ended up getting in a few hours after her!
Poor Tucker, now that we have to buy a ticket for Jackson, and there are only three seats per side, he is the one that gets kicked to the other side. I'd happily go, but I know that Jackson would not have that! :) Thank goodness for technology!
Even with these two, technology is such a blessing when traveling on an airplane. Made even better by the awesome Hoo Too!
Finally we made it!!!!  WOO-HOO! It was just as hot and just as humid as Montgomery. After getting in late and having to wait at the airport for moms luggage, we made it in late to their house. Their house is so cute. So nice and spacious! But we were pooped so we just went straight to bed that night and woke up bright and early the next day and hit the road to Port Aransas. Well, about as bright and early as you do with me and Kayla and 5 kids! ha ha! We still had to repack our bags for a weekend getaway and load up Kayla's Honda Oddesy with all 8 of us!!! Port Aransas is the beach in Texas. Just through Corpus Christie. I had never heard of it before, but we researched, and we found that this was the best beach in Texas. Taylor was dying to go to the beach, and so I thought it would be fun to plan this little beach trip for a day or two while in Texas. This was before I realized we were going to be able to go to the amazing Florida beaches while we were in Alabama. But, either way, I wasn't going to complain about getting to go to the beach again.
Oh my gosh, it was so fun to see this little man again! He is just the cutest. And I think it's safe to say that after our time in Texas that my older two are minor obsessed with him!!! :) Don't worry, we didn't travel like this, this was at a gas station, and of course, grandma starts right off the bat at spoiling them and gets them all beenie boos at this gas station right outside of Corpus Christi and all the kids were obsessed with them for the rest of the week!
Finally we made it to Port Aransas in time for dinner, at the ever fabulous Dairy Queen! :) and then just walked around and did some shopping at their cute little beach surf and trinket shops.

It was a cute little beach town and I love me a good little cute and quaint beach town. Kayla had found a condo on VRBO so we had this cute little place. Oh, funny story, after DQ we decided to stop at the little grocery store in town and stock up, but I think that some of the kids were asleep, so mom decided to stay in while Kayla and I run in real quick. Well, first of all, it's the only grocery store in the town so everyone is there, it is seriously SO packed! We hadn't made a list and you know how it is grocery shopping without a list, it just takes longer. Long story short, we were in there longer than planned, and we come back out and I think that at least 4 of the 5 kids were crying and my poor mother is just sitting there in the middle of them all trying to comfort and quiet them all! I felt so bad for the woman. Moral of the story is, don't go grocery shopping without a list when there are 5 kids and only 1 adult in a car waiting for you! haha
Finally we made it back to the condo and the kids were able to settle down and get happy and luckily Aunt Kayla had thought to bring some games so that made the kids happy. Apples to apples is always a hit with my kids!
We were ready for a good night sleep and ready for some beach time the next day!
