Christmas in Alabama 2014...

We got there just in time to have Christmas with everyone. Everyone was already there, and we had to have our Christmas before everyone had to get home! It was so fun to be with everyone. The only ones not there this year were Meg and Meribeth. Meg had to work, and Meribeth is now living in England. Anyway, it was still a full house, and we, of course, had lots of fun!
Grandma did the Nativity with the kids. They each get to be a piece from the scene and put their pieces in when it's their turn and Alex reads the story from the Bible.IMG_5859
Then the presents came out and it was pure wildness and chaos. 15 kids and all of their presents, and excitement. I love it. It's wild and crazy and chaotic and it's so much fun!

There were lots of spoiled grandkids and two very loving grandparents. We are so lucky!

Again, Jackson was kind of in shock of what was going on, and took a little bit to get used to everything, but then once he realized all of the cool things he was getting, he was more than happy to be there!

Tradition in Bama is that after Christmas and the kids go to bed, we do our adult Chinese Christmas. It is so fun and with the humor of the Pyper family, you just never know what you're going to get. Grandpa came out in the item he got last year, the jingle bell boxers...

{And here he is holding his gift this year, the 'poop' dough}
Tara was VERY happy to have received joshy's gift, as you can tell by the look on her face...

Normally, no kids are allowed. With the exception of babies who can't fall asleep due to the time change. So, this little guy got to join us for a while. The stinker wouldn't go down, and I didn't want him waking up all the kids upstairs...

Grandma and Grandpa also open their gifts from us adult kids. We got Grandpa a College Football book. I'm not sure I've ever known a family more into college football than the Pypers...

David and Lynlee got him an Alabama snuggie.... pure awesomeness...

And the big gift from us, was that Ben started him a website. He loved it and Ben did such a great job on it! It was an awesome gift!
IMG_2912We weren't going to come down for Christmas this year because we went to Virginia for Thanksgiving, but when we were in Virginia, Ben's mom kept on making comments how she sure would miss us at Christmas and Ben was starting to feel guilty. So, last minute we bought the tickets. Like after Thanksgiving vacation! I was a little hesitant because we had just gotten home from travelling and the idea of staying put over the holiday's sure sounded nice. But in the end, I'm always so glad that when we come down. The holiday's are so much better when shared with a bunch of crazy and wild in-laws!!
