Easter...

We woke up on Easter day and the Easter Bunny had come. yay! :) I think what I'm going to do in the future is do all the bunny/eastery things on the Saturday before. Then Sunday can focus on the real meaning of Easter and the Savior. But for this year, we were all about the bunny in the morning.
Since we hadn't even dyed eggs yet for the season, we did that Sunday before church.

The cuties before church in their Easter finest. Jackson and Taylor insisted on wearing their hats and I thought it was so cute! :)
This is what picture time really looks like...

The little stinkers! :) They keep me on my toes every day, all day!
Ben had to go to the office so we had to do a photo session on our own! Taylor took this of Jax and I.
Selfie with Tuck man...
And Tucker took this of Taylor and I...
And a selfie of all of us:
We had a wonderful Sunday at church and just a nice relaxing afternoon. I love Sunday's where we have something to ponder and focus on. Dad and Kathryn joined us that night for a delicious Easter dinner. It's always a blast when they come over, we are always laughing and they are always loving on us, so it's a win-win, really! :)
These guys sure are a lot of work, but a lot of fun, too! And I just love them so much!

The kids got silly string in their baskets so of course, we had to have a silly string fight after dinner...

And we ended the wonderful day with the Easter cake I made. Taylor helped me decorate it with the bunnies and M&M's. I sure do love this side kick of mine. Happy Easter Ya'll; I love this time to focus on the last week of the Saviors life and his resurrection! How lucky I am!

Easter Prep & RS Activities...

We got home from Portland and I realized I hadn't even gotten any Easter or Spring decorations out. I am usually all over things like this, but I tell you, this year I suck! I don't know what my problem is, I am just lagging in all the extra little things that I usually love doing. Let's hope my motivation returns sometime here!20160321_142929

I only had one week to get done all of the Eastery things that I had planned and that I usually do. We did an Easter Egg craft on Monday night for FHE...

Oh my gosh, look at that face! He is so cute. I just love this stage he is in right now. He is getting so chatty and just fun to be with all the time. Everything is exciting right now and he wants to everything himself.
We did our weekly McDonalds lunch with our friends. It's really the only thing we can do in Spokane this winter. Jackson made himself this really cool long straw by putting all the straws together. I was impressed with his creativity! :) ha ha
I did want to focus on Christ more this year so, I've been reading these two books about Christ Center Easter celebrations. They were so good, and I loved reading all about the last week of Christ's life. There are also activities, that I will be more prepared to do next year with the kids and as a family.
Anyway, the rest of the week was pretty norm. We did our weekly McDonalds lunch date with friends, where Jackson made this awesome straw tube. So proud of him.
Funny story about the nails. I had gotten gel nails done for the wedding, and was showing them off and bragging to the girls about how wonderful they are and how long they last. As soon as I got home I looked down and one was gone! I was dying, so I had to share!
The adventures I have with this boy every day are so fun. I just love this time I have one on one with him. He is always talking to me and laughing with me.
And getting into things... getting into things....all...the...time....
I was pretty proud of these little snacks I made for Tucker one day. He's also been into making gourmet snacks and always experimenting in the kitchen. He's on a BLT kick like all.the.time. So, we did a little play on them...
Somehow I got roped into doing the Relief Society skit with my friends from the Evergreen Ward. The theme was something about shoes through time and so Janette and Mariane made a skit and dance. Janette is the choreographer and Marianne is so creative and funny, she made it like a Bill and Ted's excellent adventure thing with pioneer ladies and they go to every era and we did a dance at every era from that particular era. It was so fun. It was a lot of work, meeting for a few weeks before then but so fun, I loved meeting with my girlies every week. Here are Marianne and I backstage during one of our changing times. We had this awesome dances choreographed and it was just fun! So different from what I've been used to for the past 4 years in the Spanish Branch.
70's theme. These ladies are so fun!
And here are the 80's:  {Man, I love these girls}
After the RS Anniversary party, we decided to have Marianne run through this awesome sign to celebrate that it was over, and I was supposed to video it, but I accidentally didn't and got these pics.

Since we had worked so hard on this RS project, we decided that we deserved a girls night out. Of course, it was wonderful and I believe it was even karaoke night, so there may have been some Celine Dion, Mama Mia and Total eclipse of the heart. And of course, there was a Maverick stop in there, too.
Just wanted to document it that this is what the house looked like when I got home. I love my husband so much and appreciate that he lets me go out with my ladies; but really!?! :)
For Young Women's this week we decided to Easter egg bomb some members in our branch. We went out to the Burleson's in Post Falls and then to the Wiberg's in Liberty Lake. We were going to go to the Zavala's in Rathdrum, but we got a late start, because the girls spent too much time making these eggs. But they were really cute. I had also found a great quote from one of the books. The girls had a blast, (except when we ended the night meeting at the Fred Meyer parking lot meeting Lacey Lopez who was a little bit pissed that we were late--oops!)

Friday afternoon we met up with Carmen and the girls to go to this little Easter celebration at one of Jared's nursing homes. Jackson was enjoying the Wiberg back yard...
It was so cute, this little nursing home was all decked out with all these activities, go fish, egg drop, face painting, cake walk and a magician and lots of carnival types of food. The kids were in hog heaven!
Eggs on a spoon races:
The magician, who was like 14 years old, btw!
I can't remember if this was Jackon's first time or not, but he wasn't sure about this whole face painting thing! :)
He got a dinosaur and Taylor became a bunny...
So, that Friday night I had a girls date with my lady friends to go see a play at Hannah's church. Her husband Justin was in it and it was a depiction of the last week of Christ's life...
Oh how I love these ladies! And I love that I got to see Grace perform! :) It was a really good play and I was happy to be there supporting Hannah, it was just a bit odd coming from a non-mormon perspective. The last supper wasn't even depicted, the part of the woman crying and washing Christ's feel with her hair was very sexual and erotic and was like the longest scene. And the crowing moment of the play was when the spotlight was on Christ hanging on the cross all bloody for like a half hour, and just very little mention of the resurrection. It was odd, and I tried to go in with a great attitude, but I just couldn't feel the spirit and I couldn't help but laugh about a lot of the events.
After the show, Jesus was walking around like Mr. Rico Suave celebrity. It was hilarious, Marianne, Dori and I wanted so badly to ask him for a picture, but we chickened out. These sneaky pics are all we could get. Hannah told us that he grows his beard out and gets hair plugs a few months before this production just so he can play Jesus. And he walks around like he's the real thing! :) ha ha
Anyway, it was a lame Saturday before Easter. And I meant to take the kids to the Evergreen ward's annual Easter egg hunt that is really big. We went to it last year. There were also a few other egg hunts at local church's that I was planning on taking them to, and then the day game and we just hung out a home and had our own egg hunts. They had fun that day, but the next day when they asked me when we were going to go to a real egg hunt and I told them that what we had done on Saturday was it, they were just a little disappointed!
While we were out there in the back yard I noticed that we have some beautiful flowers coming up, finally! Woo-hoo!
That Saturday night I went with Meg and Avery to the General RS broadcast at the stake center. It was so nice and it was uplifting and so great to be with wonderful women and friends in the stake. On our way out, I looked over at the temple and it just looked so beautiful! The picture doesn't do it justice! It was a great ending to a great week of thinking about and remembering my Savior.
