Sickies...

And then it hit! I don't remember (I should have blogged about this back when everything was fresh in my memory!) who or how, but slowly, one by one all 13 of us got sick over the course of the next week and a half. What was supposed to be this great big family reunion over the 4th of July turned into vomit and diarrhea fest! It was seriously like we were living in the twilight zone! 2 of Ben's siblings and their families didn't even end up coming, to avoid the plague, and I personally don't remember a lot about that week, other than literally we would bleach and clean a bathroom just in time for someone else to dirty it up! We were walking around like zombies; it was awful! Unfortunately Ben's mom and dad got it the worst and were in bed for like 5 days straight and I felt so bad. Ben got it during his only week down there; he didn't even get to enjoy his time at home! Everyone, all the way down to my one year old nephew got it! Poor baby! I will never forget my sister in law walking into the living room after a shower, literally walking with her head below her waist like a zombie because she was so determined NOT to throw up and that is the only way she didn't feel nauseous. She was on her way to go get her daughter to bed and we literally had to make her drop everything she had in her hands, and go straight to bed! Luckily I only got the runs a little bit (TMI???) :) and one other sister in law didn't get it too bad, so we were the ones taking care of children, taking care of adults, cleaning, doing the laundry, making sure those that could eat were eating etc.. It was crazy!
Here are the kids in their bed with Tuckers throw up garbage can next to him for when he had to throw up! Poor guy! It was like 7pm (5pm our time) at this time and we were forcing them to bed to get some good rest and they did NOT want to go to bed, so we put a movie on for them and they both crashed!

This was after we finally emerged from the dead, and grandma came out of her bed for the first time in days. The dogs were SO excited to see her! They all just cuddled up on her and loved on her. They missed their mama taking care of them!

We missed that Sunday going to church, so we held our own primary. The worst was over by this point, but we didn't want to infect anybody else, so we stayed home!

Aunt Meri trying to give the kids a 'sharing time' lesson. :) Seriously how did people give at home primary lessons before ipads??? :) You can tell they were all really into the lesson! :)

Now that the sicknesses were for the most part over, we could carry on with our fun summer family traditions!

i'm pretty sure it was in alabama that tuck got super sick right before kayla's wedding and brought it back to keyton who ended up in the hospital from throwing up so long. perhaps it's just a nasty flu that alabama carries. :) glad you all got better before having to travel home like that! that would have been a terrible flight!
