Screen Free day...

I told my kids that we were going to have a handful of screen free days this summer. I was kind of dreading it. I mean, I don't mind if they play on a little bit after being outside most of the day. I just knew that they would whine and complain about it. But I was pleasantly surprised when none of that happened! woo-hoo! Definitely doing this a lot this summer. It's good for them. They had a ball together and there weren't any fights, which I was SHOCKED about!
They spent the morning on the trampoline:

Had root beer floats on the trampoline after lunch:

Got to go swimming with the Mortensens after lunch. Meg and I both bought passes at Chester Hills Pool. I'm super excited, my kids love it there, and I get to hang out with friends because Katrina and Meg both had passes this summer.

Got home that night and blew some bubbles with Alex. This huge wand is awesome. The kids have been making the biggest bubbles!

Had some papa murphy's pizza and I burnt the dessert pizza. It was a sad sad day! :)

Trampoline fun!

Getting this trampoline was one of the best investments, ever. Our kids love it, as do most children, I think! :) We spent many an hour on that trampoline in this glorious month of June.
It is especially nice with a bowl of raspberries from your back yard, as Jackson discovered! :)
I love the static hair on these two. Jackson need a haircut much???

I could watch these two for hours on this thing. They both love it so so so much!
Backyard BBQ on grandma's last night here. A yummy dinner of Noodle Express, doesn't get much better than that!
You can see in this picture just how much Tucker loved having Alex here, it was so cute! :)

Splash Down...

I really wanted to take Alex to Splash down to show him that Nashville's got nuthin' on what Spokane has to offer for fun entertainment! :) ha ha! No, but really...Splashdown is perfect right now for the age of my kids. The younger two love the kiddie area and slides, even though the water is FREEZING! And Tucker loves the big slides. And if you go after 4, the price is half price. We decided to go while grandma was still here. It still wasn't QUITE warm enough to enjoy it fully for me, or grandma or the littles, but Tucker and Alex and Ben had a good time!

Just munchin' on some capt' crunch. And I just loved Taylor's face in this bottom one! :)
Tucker and Ben had some epic races...
And Jackson even got to go down a few of the big rides with mommy, daddy and grandma...

This one makes me laugh because grandma lost her footing, and they both went under. Totally not in the plans, but a good experience for Jax! :)
He was not happy about it for a while...
Our crew heading back up. The only negative to water parks is having to trudge back up the hill after every run!
These two decided to sit it out for a bit while I did some racing with Tuck... Ben and Alex had to leave to get to Young Men's and I was a little bummed they were missing out on the fun. But Alex was anxious to get to Young Men's so I guess that's a good thing, right?! :)

I sure did have fun with my boys!
SO happy that summer is finally here! :) YAY! And so sad that grandma has to leave soon! :(

RFP with grandma...

One of the mornings when Tucker was at baseball, me and my mom, who was still in town, decided to take the other two downtown to River Front Park. It was a beautiful day.
Jackson was of course, super excited to have a morning full of grandma. We had to see the falls.

I love this cute little sweet boy of mine. I wish he loved me as much as he loves his grandma. :)
It was really funny because as we were walking on the bridge, we kept on seeing all these gay couples walking by. We just thought that since it was a nice day a lot of people were out who happened to be gay.
Then we went to get a shaved ice and I started to not only notice a lot of gay people but very flamboyant and loud gay people.
I snuck a picture of a few while I was taking picture of Jackson and Taylor.

Then we wandered over to the big red wagon and found this sign on the ground. It was then that we saw a security officer in the park and asked him what was going on and he told us, really nervously, uh....yea....there is some sort of festival going on....uh....It was pretty funny, we could tell that he was totally uncomfortable.  And he didn't even tell us what it was. We, of course, figured it out. And found it so comical! :)  ha ha

The kids were clueless, and we had a great time playing.

Then we fed the ducks and met some more gay rights supporters...

Grandma sure is so good to her grandkids! :)
We couldn't leave without riding some rides...

This little man is so fun! He is by far, my most daring child, and loves the rides, and THE ONLY ride he is tall enough to ride by himself are the water bumper cars. Which I think is so funny, that the only ride involving water, is the one that the shortest children are allowed to do by themselves! He was so bummed that he couldn't ride any other ride by himself. He was literally a half an inch too short.

And to end our morning of fun, we ate lunch at the little outdoor cafe right in the park that I've always wanted to try. It wasn't anything to write home about, but it was a wonderful afternoon to just chill outside with the family. I love day's like this. Fun for the kids, fun adventure at a gay pride festival and lots and lots of loves from grandma!
