When we got back from the beach, the Pyper clan was there waiting for us, and we got to spend a few days with them. It was so fun, my kids don't see the Pyper's as much as their other cousins because they just don't come down as much and so it was fun for them to spend some time with the Pyper's.
Although it does make for a very full house when they are there! That is a lot of people and kids under one roof!!! They were there to pick up Alex since he had been with us for the month and then we hijacked him and kept him hostage at grandmas house with us and took him to the beach with us! :) ha ha
So many cousins makes for some great memories and lots of play time!
Getting ready for our 4th of July celebration with Aunt Lynlee...
Cousin snuggle time...
Uncle Jeremy snuggle time...
On the day of the 4th of July, it started raining, so the Wetumpka show got cancelled. I sure do love me a good southern rain storm though, it was a good one!
We all went out on grandma's front porch and watched it.
Jackson didn't know what to think.
A little southern rain storm didn't stop Preston and David from putting on a show for the kids though! haha In between rain sessions, they would run out and light off those fireworks like mad men!
It was funny watching these two, they were like part of the little kid pack getting all giddy with excitement over the fireworks! :) ha ha
I just love that we can DO fireworks in Alabama. I've never been able to do them on my own up here in Spokane. It is too dry here, so they are illegal in our county. So, it's just fun for me to even be able to do our own!
Taylor and I made our American Flag fruit pizza for dessert:
And after yummy hot dogs and hamburgers, and festivities, we had a glow party to celebrate!
Tuck & Jonah:
One day we invaded the YMCA pool. Luckily we didn't get kicked out this time! ha ha. Look at all those Pypers!
Taylor loved hanging out with her big girl cousins. She is used to having mostly boys around when we go down there. Sophie and Kira are just the sweetest!
I just love this Sophie girl. She is so sweet and Taylor just adored her!
This guy adored her too, just doesn't adore getting pictures taken!
The Pypers were leaving after church on Sunday, so I had to get a pic with my 'son' Alex. He was my son for a month and we loved having him so much!
Boys will be boys when bamboo sticks are around!
Ok, I still look at this picture and amazed at the perfectness of it! Jackson smiling oh so cutely, on grandma's old vintage trike that was hers when she was a little girl in her perfectly lush and green jungle of a property! I just love everything about this. Even the fact that he's not wearing pants. So totally Jackson!!
Grandma found this dress that was hers when she was in 7th or 8th grade, and wanted Sophie to try it on and it looked so cute on her! :)
Lots of Joshy snuggles for this guy. He seemed to be the fave for the weekend. :) The little stinker! ha ha
Uncle David marked everyones cups so we didn't go through like a thousand cups between all of us, and he added his own little twist to just the boring old names. I loved Jackson's because he would truly beg and ask for lollipops all day long and he knew that most of the time if it wasn't me, people would say yes. So he was in fact, Jackson and the lollipop heist all weekend long! :) ha ha. Everyone had their own 'Uncle David name' And Uncle David is the best at coming up with names on the spot. They crack me up!
Right as the Pyper's were heading out, most of us adults were in side, and the kids were outside playing, all of the sudden Elia comes running in saying that Taylor had gotten stung by a bee. A few steps behind her was Josh with Taylor in her arms and she was bawling. We didn't know what had happened, so we took her in the back bathroom and started looking at her body. All in all 16 stings! Grandma started immediately making some homemade concoction of meat tenderizer and started rubbing it on the stings, and Lynlee gave her some benedryl, but just as a side thought, either Laura or Lynlee suggest we call poison control to see what they suggest because that is a lot of stings, and I was clueless as to how dangerous that many is. So, we called them and they sounded so urgent that we get her to an ER or urgent care! It was then that I started worrying. Grandpa and Jeremy gave her a blessing and off we went to urgent care. We got to the urgent care and they said that they didn't have the means to treat that many bee stings, so we went to the little Wetumpka hospital and to the ER. There, they gave her some Motrin, Zyrtec and some steroids. They made us wait there to monitor her for 45 minutes, and luckily she was great! She was in pain and was totally uncomfortable but as far as allergic reaction or poison, she was just fine! Poor little lady! Here is what I wrote on Instagram:
'Poor baby girl was stung 16 times today after discovering a Yellow Jackets nest at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Nothing a quick trip to the ER, some benedryl, steroids, zyrtec, motrin and a Popsicle (at the ER), marshmallows and chocolate chips (at grandma's house) couldn't fix. Thankful for quick thinking cousins, a priesthood blessing from Uncle Jeremy and grandpa, loving attention and medicinal treatment from Aunt Lynlee and grandma and a brave little girl through it all!'
It was quite the way to send off the Pyper's but we were grateful that Josh and Elia were there to help her get away from the Yellow Jackets and come get us adults. Such a scary situation, but it could have been a lot worse and I'm grateful it wasn't!!!
