Getting to San Antonio & Port Aransas...

We were finally on our way to San Antonio!!!! We were so excited to see Aunt Kayla and Kenzie and Burton! None of us had ever been to Texas before and we were meeting Grandma Kelly there we had a beach trip planned and Seaworld trips planned! Even after a few weeks of playing with our Alabama cousins, we were ready for more!
But first we had to get there, and for some reason, this trip with this little man was a long one! He is usually a great traveler but just in that stage where he wants to go go go and with two other children who, aren't as needy, but still need me, it was a lot of work. Luckily, it wasn't a long flight, and it had gotten delayed from Birmingham the day before, so it was a more direct flight that even our earlier flight. We were supposed to get into San Antonio before my mom, and ended up getting in a few hours after her!
Poor Tucker, now that we have to buy a ticket for Jackson, and there are only three seats per side, he is the one that gets kicked to the other side. I'd happily go, but I know that Jackson would not have that! :) Thank goodness for technology!
Even with these two, technology is such a blessing when traveling on an airplane. Made even better by the awesome Hoo Too!
Finally we made it!!!!  WOO-HOO! It was just as hot and just as humid as Montgomery. After getting in late and having to wait at the airport for moms luggage, we made it in late to their house. Their house is so cute. So nice and spacious! But we were pooped so we just went straight to bed that night and woke up bright and early the next day and hit the road to Port Aransas. Well, about as bright and early as you do with me and Kayla and 5 kids! ha ha! We still had to repack our bags for a weekend getaway and load up Kayla's Honda Oddesy with all 8 of us!!! Port Aransas is the beach in Texas. Just through Corpus Christie. I had never heard of it before, but we researched, and we found that this was the best beach in Texas. Taylor was dying to go to the beach, and so I thought it would be fun to plan this little beach trip for a day or two while in Texas. This was before I realized we were going to be able to go to the amazing Florida beaches while we were in Alabama. But, either way, I wasn't going to complain about getting to go to the beach again.
Oh my gosh, it was so fun to see this little man again! He is just the cutest. And I think it's safe to say that after our time in Texas that my older two are minor obsessed with him!!! :) Don't worry, we didn't travel like this, this was at a gas station, and of course, grandma starts right off the bat at spoiling them and gets them all beenie boos at this gas station right outside of Corpus Christi and all the kids were obsessed with them for the rest of the week!
Finally we made it to Port Aransas in time for dinner, at the ever fabulous Dairy Queen! :) and then just walked around and did some shopping at their cute little beach surf and trinket shops.

It was a cute little beach town and I love me a good little cute and quaint beach town. Kayla had found a condo on VRBO so we had this cute little place. Oh, funny story, after DQ we decided to stop at the little grocery store in town and stock up, but I think that some of the kids were asleep, so mom decided to stay in while Kayla and I run in real quick. Well, first of all, it's the only grocery store in the town so everyone is there, it is seriously SO packed! We hadn't made a list and you know how it is grocery shopping without a list, it just takes longer. Long story short, we were in there longer than planned, and we come back out and I think that at least 4 of the 5 kids were crying and my poor mother is just sitting there in the middle of them all trying to comfort and quiet them all! I felt so bad for the woman. Moral of the story is, don't go grocery shopping without a list when there are 5 kids and only 1 adult in a car waiting for you! haha
Finally we made it back to the condo and the kids were able to settle down and get happy and luckily Aunt Kayla had thought to bring some games so that made the kids happy. Apples to apples is always a hit with my kids!
We were ready for a good night sleep and ready for some beach time the next day!
