April Fools day...

I always have these great plans for April Fools day, and then it comes so fast that I don't have anything prepared, and I just do something lame. :) This year, was no different. I had these huge bowls of cereal ready for the kids when they came down for breakfast.

They were entertained, so at least there was that.
Another funny thing I wanted to remember about this day, was that it was the day of Tucker's parent/teacher conferences at school. So, we all went in and Ben and I met with Mrs. Barnes, and Tucker, Taylor and Jackson stayed out in the library. Well, the conference went wonderful. Mrs. Barnes is the best and she loves Tucker so much, and you can't ask for more than that in a teacher. It was so funny because she was just gushing on and on about Tucker, how he's so great to have in class, and he works hard, and is so much fun to talk to because he gets things, and jokes and all the kids really like him, blah blah blah... And Ben says to her, 'Really, Mrs. Barnes, tell us the truth, we know Tucker, we can handle it. What does he need to work on. You have to have something for us to work on with him. And she thought for a minute, and was like, Nope, nothing. He is just wonderful. Ben was like, we KNOW Tucker, we know how he can be. :) And she stood her ground. She finally did tell us that she could work on his typing skills! :) ha ha. So, the conference is over, and Ben says to Mrs. Barnes, since it's April Fools day, lets play a trick on Tucker. So, Ben goes and gets Tucker from the library and Mrs. Barnes and I were a little nervous, but Ben had a plan. So we went with it. He got Tucker, and Tucker came in a little nervous looking. Ben says to him, Tucker, is there anything you want to tell us, and Mrs. Barnes and I are trying to keep a straight face. And Tucker looks at us with big eyes, says No. Then Ben asks him again, and he thinks about it, and Mrs. Barnes and I feel so bad, we're trying our hardest not to laugh and tell him it's a joke. And then Tucker answers, 'Is this because of the grandpa pants?'  And we all just start busting up laughing. Tucker realized we had been joking. And Ben and I were like, what in the heck are the grandpa pants?????? And Mrs. Barnes just starts laughing and proceeds to tell us that Tucker had been doing this joke lately that has turned into a whole classroom joke where he pulls up his pants really high and calls them his grandpa pants and walks around and dances like a grandpa and talks like a grandpa, and all the kids love it apparently, and he thinks he's pretty funny! Even Mrs. Barnes said it's funny and I made sure he doesn't do it too much where it is a distraction and she said no. So, I guess if Tucker's biggest thing that he is doing wrong is wearing his grandpa pants and making his friends laugh, I can handle that. He is such a good kid, we are so lucky to have him in our family. He is so happy and fun and easy going. Someone once said that he is the exact opposite of grumpy, and it's true. He's very rarely grumpy or mad or upset, and you can usually always get him to smile, which I love!!! I mean, he can whine and pester with the best of them, but he's a pretty happy smiley boy and we love him and his grandpa pants to death! :)
